And 12 points goes to БУРАНОВСКИЕ БАБУШКИ @esc12

I love the #EurovisionSongContest and the fever has just hit me again! This year the number one entry to get my attention comes from Russia "Buranovskiye Babushki"! This is a group of grandmothers singing in udmurt - the language is part of the Uralic group and distantly related to Finnish. The performance is something we have not seen before, plus the melody is simple and catchy. It is campy but positive and not making fun of the performers nor the contest itself. You can also debate the politics of minority languages within Russia and Europe. It is simply fun and offers food for a thought. Sounds like a winner combination to me. And what is the Finnish entry? Sorry cannot even remember her name without googling... It is a slow, very beautiful song in Swedish. Let's hope it will get some attention in between bigger acts. Here's a link.
