Über-celebrity Helena Lindgren wakes up at 11AM and we got it on tape

Nelonen Media's web-tv is now called Ruutu.fi. The first original series "Ihan tavallinen päivä" is a very Andy Warhol -style like piece of art. In this 20-part documentary series journalist Walter DeCamp follows one day in the life of Finland's all time sexiest woman (?) Helena Lindgren. In the first episode she just wakes up and in the second she might brush her teeth. I love the idea - so gonzo and proud of it!

THE BEST FINNISH MUSIC VIDEO 2009! Onnittelut Pete Veijalainen

Oulun musiikkivideofestivaaleilla Kultapumpelin vei ohjaaja Pete Veijalainen Eleanoora Rosenholmin videosta 'Ambulanssikuskitar'. This video reminds me of Michael Jackson's Thriller - why? Maybe just I'm having an absurd weekend :)

Oulun musiikkivideofestivaalin tuomariston perustelut: "Tämä video tukee erinomaisesti biisin tunnelmaa, kontrastien kautta. Monitasoinen teos, jossa yhdistyy sekä kauhu että huumori. Toteutus on elokuvallinen ja eheä, päähenkilö vakuuttava. Verilammikosta noustaan disco-tanssin pyörteisiin sujuvasti. Kaunista kauhua."

Kylie is back and I wanna pay for it.

I was worried about my childhood (and adulthood :) icon Kylie Minogue for a while. Her sense of style went down in a past few years as she became too ordinary again. Now I'm not worried anymore. She is back! LadyGaga's short era as the princess of style in pop is over... Check out the cover of INSTINCT. Kylie has started to promote her 11th album due early 2010 and now I'm looking forward to it.

I need a hardcopy of this. It is a gay magazine and I'm sure it sells only few copies in Finland. And the hardcopy does not need to be free (even though free is the new black). I need to find INSTINCT at Helsinki newsstands now - where is it for sale? Please let pay for this!

PS. Remember the time when wallpapers were a hit? Well, they are back! If you like men, check out INSTINCT's wallpaper gallery.

Hikiset tissit on poltettu, mutta mullapa on siitä video. Muisto elää.

Oh no - art installation Hikiset tissit (Tapani Kokko & Ihana Havo) has been burned down at Mänttä Art Festival! Oh no! Read the news article here (in Finnish).

Well luckily if you did not experience this for yourself, here's a video I took on my mobile phone in mid-July.

Hikiset tissit from Mikko Silvennoinen on Vimeo.

I loved the interactive idea of this installation. Hikiset tissit is a story of men whose life is a mess and are outsiders in the Finnish society. I believe the art festival did not mind if hooligans came at night and broke some pieces or made a mess of the installation... that is a part of the story. These vandalists are most likely outsiders themselves and frustrated with our society. Hikiset tissit IS a piece about them. And maybe some of the vandalists are youngsters and they are most likely next generation of outsiders. At least this is I understood the message of Hikiset tissit... please comment if I got this all wrong.

This music video proves that in Finland we can shake our butts, too.

Here's a brand new music video directed by my favorite Finnish director Miikka Lommi @ Kennel Helsinki for Kississings. I love the irony and the style of this video. It makes me laugh and think - how serious are these girls or are they playing? Is this sexy to someone for real? Maybe I like this because it reminds me of my all time favorite Satisfaction by Benny Benassi.

Today the music video business has truly changed - it is so important that your video works online. It is all about sharing a clip with your friends. Who cares about MTV anymore? Sorry all my friends that work at MTV but what are you going to do? Show less and less of music I guess?

Maria!-radiossa: Madonna - Dagen efter

I love the forests of Helsinki

I live in a central part of Helsinki and this morning it just stroke me... I was walking our dog and then I had to stop to take a picture: I love urban forests. Not parks, but forests. Local politicians - please don't turn all spots to parks and gardens - I love the bushes just the way they are.
